Title: Investment Officer, Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research on the technology equity investments for which the Investment
Department is responsible. These include technology assets of the United Church Board for
Pension Assets Management, the United Church Foundation and other denominational related
entities. The technology related equity assets managed by the Investment Department were
$350 million at March 31, 2000.

FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct research on technology stocks held in or to be considered for the equity
portfolios for which the Department is responsible. Research would maintain projections of
the future prospects of technology companies and establish the valuation ranges that their
stocks can be accorded.
- Initially, the incumbent would recommend purchase and
sale transactions for the Department's equity portfolios and strategies for
achieving out-performance with technology equity investments. Subsequently,
the incumbent would manage the technology sectors of the equity portfolios
for which the Department is responsible to achieve the stated objectives of
each entity for which the assets are managed.
- Manage the technology sector of the equity portfolios for which the Department is
responsible to achieve the stated objectives of each entity for which the assets are
managed, make transaction in these portfolios to implement the decisions of the Director
of Equity Investments.
- Contribute to the development of the economic and financial market assumptions that
underlie the Departments strategic investment and asset allocation plans.
- Complete other projects as requested by the Manager of Equity Investments.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Business Administration and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum of four years investment experience, with at least half of that experience in
research on technology stocks.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Reporting: This position reports to the Manager of Equity Investments.
