TITLE:         Director of Conference Relations

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides coordination and liaison for the Pension Boards programs with the United Church of Christ Conferences and entities in the national offices and in regional settings. Will function in conjunction with an assistant of the opposite sex; ideal for a professional couple.

FUNCTIONS:

• Works to foster and improve relationships of the Pension Boards with membership through active participation in regional Association and Conference activities.
• Conducts workshops on pre-retirement planning and other topics for membership in Conference locations.
• Provides technical information about the program activities and resources to members and UCC entities.
• Acts as liaison or representative at meetings as requested.
• Collaborates with other Pension Boards executives to assess effectiveness of and make recommendations about Pension Boards programs.
• Provides on-site representation at the United Church of Christ national office in Cleveland.
• Prepares and administers departmental budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• United Church of Christ experience, preferably as an ordained minister.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the complex programs and activities of the Pension Boards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally or in writing.
• Ability to travel as required (60% - 70% of the year).
• Ability to organize own work and to manage small office.
• Self-starter.
