TITLE: Investment Officer, Fixed-Income Investments
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of fixed-income assets for which the Investment Department is responsible.
These include fixed-income assets of the United Church Board for Pension Asset Management,
the United Church Foundation and other denominationally related entities. Fixed-income
assets were
$1.2 billion at December 31, 1998, with an anticipated annual trading volume of $310
million.
FUNCTIONS:
- Recommend strategies for the management of the fixed-income portfolios for which the
department is responsible. Appropriate strategies must be developed in light of
anticipated market conditions, and be consistent with the objectives and guidelines.
- Manage fixed-income portfolios for which the Department is responsible to
achieve the stated objectives of each entity for which assets are managed.
- Conduct fixed-income research to support both the strategic and tactical
investment decisions.
- Contribute to the development of the economic and financial market assumptions
that underlie the Department's strategic investment and asset allocation plans.
- Complete other projects as requested by The Director of Fixed Income
Investments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Business Administration or Certified Financial Analyst designation
strongly preferred,
- Minimum of seven years of investment experience, with at least one-half of
that experience in fixed-income investments.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
REPORTING: This position reports to the Director of Fixed Income Investments.
