The Situation

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is the most prestigious and prominent international professional organization with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application. Its international membership of more than 22,000 is composed of educators; administrators; directors of research, testing, or evaluation in federal, state, and local agencies; counselors; evaluators; graduate students; and behavioral scientists. This new position of associate director has been created in response to staffing demands resulting from growth and expansion of programs.

 The Position

Reports to: the executive director.

Basic function: to assist the executive director in the management of association operations and the implementation of policies and procedures established by the governing board of the AERA.
